BALI, INDONESIA

VILLA.
AURORA

Coral stone. Golden teak. First light.

Villa Aurora begins with the sea. Set on a cliff above the Bali coast, the house turns its whole face to the water — terraces, pool, and open rooms all aligned to the horizon, so the ocean is never out of sight. It is named for the light: at dawn the coral stone catches the first warmth of the sun and holds it all day.

The materials are warm and local. Textured limestone laid like dry stone, golden teak louvers that filter the sun, travertine floors worn smooth underfoot. Deep overhangs shade the terraces; planted ledges spill green over every edge; an outdoor fireplace anchors the living space to the open air. Nothing shines — everything glows.

Inside, the boundary between house and coast dissolves. Sliding walls of glass retract completely; the kitchen, dining, and living rooms open as one to the pool and the sea beyond. The bath opens to a full frame of ocean; the bedroom wakes with the horizon. Every space is oriented to catch the light and the water at once.

Designed for Bali, Villa Aurora feels tuned to the sun — a house that greets the morning and lets it move through, unhurried, until dusk.
