TULUM, MEXICO

MARE.
TULUM

White curves. Teak lining. Sea at the door.

Casa Mare begins with the water. Set right at the shoreline in Tulum, the house curves along the sand in soft white waves — rounded roofs, flowing balconies, no straight line in sight — as if the architecture had been shaped by the same tide that laps at its feet. The sea is not a view here; it is the ground the house is built upon.

The palette is bright and coastal. White curved shells outside, warm teak soffits lining every ceiling in sweeping organic forms, pale stone and marble within. Light bounces off the turquoise water and plays across the ceilings; everything is airy, open, dissolved into sun and sea.

Inside, the whole house turns to the horizon. Full walls of glass slide away so living, kitchen, and bedrooms open straight to the water; the primary bath frames the sea behind a freestanding tub; the bedroom wakes to palms and blue. Rattan, oak, and white keep the interior soft and unhurried.

Designed for Tulum, Casa Mare feels born of the coast — a fluid white house at the very edge of the Caribbean, shaped like the water it lives beside.
