PUNTA CANA, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
CASA.
NATIVA
White mass. Teak screen. Caribbean floor.
Casa Nativa begins with a single gesture: a white volume that floats above the ground, as if the jungle beneath it refused to be displaced. There are no columns where you expect them. The mass cantilevers over a latticed teak screen — raw wood against smooth stucco, shadow against light.
The entrance is deliberately understated. You pass under the overhang, through dense Caribbean planting, into a threshold that feels earned. Inside, the logic inverts: where the exterior is closed and monolithic, the interior opens fully to a private garden behind.
Built in Punta Cana, it reads like a ruin that hasn't happened yet — permanent, unhurried, entirely at ease with what surrounds it.
